adding some easing and use higher frame rate will be much better
also try using frame label if possible instead of using frame number

Great start ! Now try to add some simple AS3 code in your frames. It worth the time to learn, and you don't need to know much for producing smooth animations. Go on !

I think it should move faster. Normally (at least on my computer) in flash player it moves faster than in browsers, maybe that is why you didnt make it faster. While developing you are testing in a standalone player.
